STATEMENT TO OUR MEMBERS

CAMCO COMMUNITY FCU, your member owned financial institution, is committed to making available financial products and services that will enable you to meet you financial needs and reach your financial goals. Protecting personal information and using it in a manner consistent with our expectations is a high priority for everyone associated with our credit union.

As a member of our credit union, you also have a responsibility to safeguard your financial information.

To ensure that you can rely upon the quality of products and services we make available, our credit union stands behind the following privacy policy:

Our credit union will collect only the personal information that is necessary to conduct our business. That means only the information which is essential to provide competitive financial products and services. We collect and may disclose nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you on membership and loan applications and other forms;
  • Information about your transactions with us or others;
  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency;
  • Information obtained when verifying the information your provide on an application or other forms, such as from your current or past employers or from other institutions where you conduct financial transactions.

We may also disclose information we collect about you under other circumstances as permitted or required by law. These disclosures typically include information to process transactions on your behalf, conduct the operations of our credit union, follow your instructions as you authorize, or protect the security of our financial records.

If you terminate your membership with Camco Community Fedreral Credit Union, we will not share information we have collected about you, except as permitted or required by law.

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees/volunteers who have a specific business purpose in utilizing your data. Our employees are trained in the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. Our volunteers adhere to a strict code of ethics. Our credit union will protect your personal information and will maintain strong security controls to ensure that member information in our files and data processing system is protected. Where appropriate, we will ensure accuracy and integrity of communications and transactions, and protect member confidentiality.

You will always have access to your information. As a member of our credit union, you will always have the opportunity to review your account history and information for accuracy and will be permitted to request changes necessary to reflect accurate and complete information. Our credit union will only share information when absolutely necessary. We will only share information to administer the products and services we provide, when required to do so by the government, or when we have a joint marketing agreement with another business to offer a broader array of products and services.

Our credit union will partner only with businesses that follow strict confidentiality requirements. The businesses we select will offer products designed to enhance our members' economic well-being. Under no circumstances will we authorize these firms to charge your account without your express consent, and we will not sell member information to telemarketing firms.

Our credit union will distribute a privacy notice and disclosure statement to all members within 30 days of activating a membership account; distribute to the current membership in full once annually; distribute to any current member upon his/her request.
